Gozo is the second largest
island in the Maltese archipelago. It still has the characteristics it had long
ago. Unlike Malta, it is not affected by serious over-development. Life in Gozo
is much more quite than in Malta. The Gozitans (as the peaople of the island are
called) lead a non-hectic life free of the hustle and bustle. Commerce and
business are certainly not on their list of priorities.
Lush meadows, fresh air and splendid beaches dominate the island. And all this
along with the friendly Gozitans which are always ready to help you get around.
Whilst in Gozo, one should certainly visit the Cittadella , a city
enclosed with fortifications, dating back to the fifteenth century.
Lace-making and Gbejna-production (A typr of "small" cheese) are
characteristic of Gozo.
A visit to Malta is simply not complete without a trip to Gozo.
